Hello Friends!
We are sure you are eagerly waiting for the Onam event and signature ‘Sadya’ next weekend! This is going to be a packed event with the Maha Sadya followed by a line up of exciting stage programs thrugh the afternoon! Several artists and volunteers are working hard to please you with their performance! There are a few surprises in the mix as well!
It will be a traditional Sadya with all the curries, upadamsams, rice, pappadam, pazham and payasams! You just need to bring your appitite!
We would recommend you reach the venue early, as we will be starting the Sadya @ 11:30. You will be given a token with a time slot assigned for the Sadya. We are expecting a massive crowd this time and sticking to the assigned time slot is essential to serve Sadya to everyone in a timely fashion, and start the stage programs on time.
We hope you will have loads of fun during COMA Onam Celebration!

FIA Information
FIA hosted India Festival 2017 on August 26th at the Ohio Expo Center. It a grand success that included a variety of cultural programs.

മലയാള മണ്ണിൽ നിന്നും വളരെ ദൂരെയാണെങ്കിലും ധാരാളം മലയാളികളെ കാണാനും നല്ലൊരു സദ്യയുണ്ണാനും ഇവിടെ തരപ്പെടുമെന്നത് നമ്മുടെയൊക്കെ ഭാഗ്യം തന്നെയാണ്. അതുപോലെതന്നെ മലയാളത്തനിമയുള്ള കലാപരിപാടികൾ നമ്മളിൽ പലരും നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികളും അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും വളരെ സന്തോഷമുള്ള കാര്യമാണ്.
മുൻപൊക്കെ ഓണം കുടുംബങ്ങളുമായി ഒത്തുചേരാനും അവരുമായി സമയം ചെലവാക്കാനും മറ്റുമുള്ള അവസരമായിരുന്നു . മാറിവന്ന സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ പലർക്കും അതിനു സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയുടെ സാഹായത്താൽ ഒരു ഓൺലൈൻ കുടുംബസംഗമം സുസാധ്യമാണ്. ഒന്നോർത്താൽ ഇതാണ് കൂടുതൽ സൗകര്യം! എത്രമാത്രം വാണിജ്യവത്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടാലും ഓണത്തിന് ഒരു പ്രത്യേകത്തുണ്ട്. ഇന്നും ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷം മലയാളികളും ഓണം സ്വന്തം കുടുംബത്തിൻ ആഘോഷിക്കുവാൻ താല്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നവരാണ് – കുടുംബം ചെറുതായാലും വലുതായാലും.

Community Service News: Nish Nishant
COMA continued with its monthly Meals on Wheels participation through July and August. The July route was delivered by Nish Nishant and first time volunteers Arun Varkey and Rachel Mathew (youth). The August route was delivered by Shome Thomas and Rohan Shome (youth).
Incidentally, Shome and Rohan were COMA’s first Meals on Wheels volunteers when we started the program.
COMA does Meals on Wheels deliveries on the fourth Sunday of each month to roughly 16 homes. If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch with the executive committee. We welcome young volunteers too, who are aged 12 or older.
Malayalam Class 2017-18
COMA Malayalam Classes for 2017 commenced on August 20, 2017 at the Lazelle Woods Community Center. This years class size of 18 Beginner and 6 intermediate level students is the largest class size to date.
